Field Work

4-5 to 4-9:
  • Design the appleseed. Use google sketch up as well as hand drawings.
  • Finalize my parts list.
  • Study the Greengineering Appleseed
4-12 to 4-16:
  • Buy the parts for my design
  • Modify the electrical system for the water heater
  • Put together plumbing system
4-19 to 4-23:
  • Set up pump with plumbing system
  • Add safety features to appleseed, ex: timers to electrical system
  • Dry Fit the final design
4-26 to 4-30:
  • Review dry fitted design, looking for areas to modify
  • make modifications to improve efficiency
  • Build the final model
5-3 to 5-7:
  • Make fuel with my appleseed.
  • Try both original method and 80/20 method
  • Test fuel for quality
5-10 to 5-14:
  • Final Draft of Paper due, Back in class working on presentation
5-17 to 5-21:
  • Informal Presentation
5-24 to 5-28:
  • Formal Presentation


Non Field Work

4-5 to 4-9:
  • Work on writing my paper
  • Spend time in library writing/editing my paper
  • Send my design plans to Graydon and other biodiesel experts
4-12 to 4-16:
  • Meet with reader to discuss my paper
  • Meet with reader to discuss my design and the actual building
  • Take photos of my field work for presentation/wiki
4-19 to 4-23:
  • Draft #2 Due
  • Take more photos photos of appleseed and biodiesel.
  • Start working on presentation, make an action plan for my presentation
4-26 to 4-30:
  • Make paper modifications based on corrections received from Draft 2
  • Continue to photograph my field work
  • Continue planning my presentation
  • Make a powerpoint/google presentation if action plan calls for it
5-3 to 5-7:
  • Finish draft of presentation
  • Work on logistics for presentation, bringing an appleseed upstairs. Bringing finished fuel upstairs
5-10 to 5-14:
  • Final Draft of Paper due,
  • Back in class working on presentation.
  • Practice presenting to whom ever will listen
5-17 to 5-21:
  • Informal Presentation
  • Will have appleseed and biodiesel made from my appleseed
5-24 to 5-28:
  • Formal Presentation.
  • Wear a nice suit and have the appleseed and biodiesel as visuals plus a kick ass powerpoint or google slide show.
